A shock absorber,
what's the point ?

Shock absorbers play a dual role in terms of both comfort and safety.

Allowing both to slow down the movements of the springs and to keep the tires in contact with the ground, they have a strong impact on the quality of the vehicle's braking and steering.

When and why should you change your vehicle's shock absorbers?

Wear parts, it is necessary to ensure the safety of the driver and the vehicle to ensure the proper functioning and condition of the shock absorbers.

A truck driving with worn shock absorbers will see its road holding deteriorate, its braking distance extended and its management of curves more difficult.

The ABS system can also be impacted and faulty due to shock absorbers in poor condition.

Certain signs should be taken into account and indicate that you need to change your shock absorbers (leaks, vehicle swerving, presence of noise in traffic, abnormally worn tires, etc.).

In general, the check should be done at least once a year or every 20,000 km.

For replacement, this takes place on average between 80,000 and 150,000 km.
